when i walk into a museum, i always heave a deep sigh of relief. i’m where i’m supposed to be. so when i’m not at one, or i’m stressed, or i’m tired, i like to put myself mentally in front of my favorite paintings, in my favorite museums. this one is by John Singer Sargent, and it’s titled “Daughters of Edward Darley Boit” – it’s at the MFA Boston. i love the curators forever there, for framing this huge painting with the actual 5′ tall chinese vases that the artist painted from life. where else have you seen that?
